YOU – an experienced print professional responsible for operating and maintaining high-volume printing systems, ensuring the efficient and accurate production of printed materials. Your role involves setting up print jobs, monitoring print quality, troubleshooting equipment issues, and performing routine maintenance. You have a strong attention to detail, technical expertise in printing equipment, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

US – We are QM Recycled Energy (QMRE), a pioneer in reversing the process that creates plastic from fossil fuels. Plastic waste is fed into a VIXLA system which, utilising a thermolysis-based process (pyrolysis with significant system developments), results in a chemical reaction taking place in the absence of oxygen. The hydrocarbon chains - the building blocks that make plastic – are broken down in a very efficient way, allowing those building blocks to be reconstructed time and again.

THE JOB – We seek a number of Production Process Operatives to control the plastic waste to oil system. Responsibilities will include monitoring and inspecting equipment to ensure the site is optimised and operates safely; overseeing the whole chain from delivery of the plastic waste through to loading oil product onto road tanker; and complete maintenance and servicing of the equipment.

  • QM Recycled Energy will take plastic waste and return it to an oil component by using a pyrolysis system. Each system is designed to feed 5,000Kg/d of waste plastic making 5,000 litres of oil, which will be transported to a refinery or petrochemical facility meaning the oil produced will be used as a plastic feedstock.
  • The operation involves shredding the plastic into smaller pieces allowing this to feed into the pyrolysis unit. The pyrolysis unit cracks the long hydrocarbons into more valuable shorter chain molecules which are condensed into an oil product.
  • The Site in Kingsnorth, Rochester will contain two units capable of processing 10,000Kg/d, a pre-treatment system, oil storage and truck loading.

Job Purpose

  • The main purpose of the process production operator is to control the waste plastic to oil system. Monitoring and inspecting equipment to ensure the site is optimised and operates safely.
  • Oversees the whole chain from delivery of the waste plastic through to loading oil product onto road tanker.
  • Complete maintenance and servicing of the equipment.

Responsibilities

  • To ensure that all processes and operational activities are carried out in compliance with the sites’ Health, Safety and Environmental and quality requirements.
  • Control and monitor the pre-treatment system, the pyrolysis unit, and condensers, making manual and computer aided adjustments to process as required.
  • Conduct routine inspections of the process plant.
  • Follow work instructions or standard operating procedures to ensure the process is fully optimised.
  • Respond to required corrective and preventive actions in a timely manner.
  • Perform routine and emergency shutdown tasks.
