The Role

To spearhead our clients business development initiatives within the Smart Building and PropTech market, with a particular focus on forging new partnerships around core hardware solutions in Energy, Occupancy, and Environmental monitoring. The role aims to identify and engage potential partners who can incorporate our Clients technology into their offerings, creating value-added and sustainable building solutions that lead to recurring business.

The Company

Our Client is a well established and distinguished leader in the Internet of Things (IoT) technology sector, specialising in designing and manufacturing smart-building sensor technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner Identification and Engagement: Actively seek out and engage potential partners who can benefit from integrating our Clients Energy, Occupancy, and/or Environmental hardware into their own solutions or offerings.
  • Leadership and Strategic Direction: Provide leadership to the business development team, setting clear goals for identifying and securing new partnerships. Develop and implement strategies that align with our client’s product capabilities and market goals.
  • Sector Expertise: The ideal candidate must possess a strong existing knowledge of the market relevant to Smart Buildings, IoT and PropTech.
  • Performance Monitoring: Set clear targets for new partnership development and recurring business success. Implement KPIs to gauge team progress, offering guidance and feedback to enhance performance.
  • Industry Engagement: Build and maintain robust relationships with key players in the Smart Buildings and PropTech market. Represent our Client at relevant industry events and conferences to network with potential partners and influencers.
  • Technical Competency: Must possess a technical understanding of smart building technologies, including familiarity with IoT, sensors, and data analytics platforms.

Ideal Qualifications:

  • A degree in Business, Technology, Engineering, or a related field is desirable but not mandatory. Relevant experience in Smart Buildings, PropTech, IoT, or closely related industries is crucial.
  • Proven track record of successful business development, sales, or partnership building within the Smart Building and PropTech market. Experience should highlight the ability to identify, engage, and secure new business opportunities and partnerships.
  • Deep understanding of the Smart Building and PropTech market dynamics, with the ability to leverage this knowledge to drive business development strategies and meet sales targets.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, with experience guiding a team towards achieving significant business development and sales objectives.
  • Strong networking skills, adept at establishing and cultivating productive relationships with potential partners, industry influencers, and other stakeholders within the Smart Building and PropTech communities.
  • Competency in utilising CRM and sales management tools to support data-driven decision-making and strategy formulation.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively articulating our Clients solutions’ value proposition to potential partners and customers.
  • A commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment is essential.
