Would you like to join an international defence company to support their clients by improving the capability, reliability and availability of their most critical assets? Due to continued investment, this global business is currently looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their existing team in Plymouth (typically only a couple of days a month on site) on a 12 month contract.

The Role

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be supporting the engineering capability of the new systems through design phases, procurement, manufacture, commissioning, and handover into operations. Your responsibilities will include but not limited to the following:

  • Mechanical Handling Systems
  • Building Services and HVAC (ideally in Nuclear applications)
  • Heavy Industry Workshop and Process Lines
  • Sound project specification, planning, project management and budgeting experience to support design, construction / manufacture, acceptance, installation, operation and repair.

You

To succeed within the role of a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you'll have experience in a similar position and have the following skills and experience:

  • A degree, degree apprentice or demonstrable time served in an appropriate engineering discipline
  • Chartered Engineer, registered with Engineering Council (or actively working towards
  • NEC 4 ECC and PSC contracts (Options A, C & E)
  • Proficient in relevant engineering office computer applications
  • Buildings Information Management (BIM) - (desirable)
  • CEMAR - (desirable)
  • CDM 2015 regs

Please note that due to security nature of this role, we can only consider those who are sole British nationals with capability of obtaining SC security clearance. The vetting process is delivered by United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) and will require candidates to provide proof of residency in the UK of 5 years or longer.
