High Voltage Fitter

This is a field-based role with work conducted at industrial sites, substations, or power plants that requires adherence to strict safety protocols and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

You will be working away from home Monday-Friday sbnd you will need to have the ability to lift heavy equipment and tools whilst being comfortable working in physically demanding environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, maintain, and repair high voltage electrical systems and equipment, including transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, and cables.

• Diagnose and troubleshoot faults in high voltage equipment, providing timely solutions to minimize downtime.

• Carry out preventative maintenance tasks according to schedules and industry standards.

• Interpret and work from technical drawings, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams.

• Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards, codes, and regulations.

• Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and other trades to ensure seamless workflow.

• Document and report all work performed, including test results, maintenance logs, and any issues identified.

• Assist in the installation and commissioning of new high voltage equipment.

You will need the following skills & qualifications to be considered for this role:

• Proven experience as a High Voltage Fitter or similar role in the electrical distribution and transmission industry.

• Relevant trade qualifications or certifications in electrical fitting or high voltage systems.

• Strong understanding of high voltage safety practices and regulations.

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and technical drawings.

• Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces as required.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

• Willingness to work in various environments and potentially in remote locations.

• Punctual, reliable, ability to work on own initiative.
