We are seeking to appoint kind, caring and enthusiastic Care Assistants to join our team. You will deliver quality of care to residents and you will contribute to the efficient and effective running of the Care Home. You will be a vital link between our Residents, the RGNs and other staff within the Home. You will interact directly with our residents, providing comfort and transportation, monitoring their vital signs and assisting with their daily living needs.

Jobs Title: Health Care Assistant (temp to perm)

Location: Tunbridge Wells

Salary: £12.50 p/h PAYE, £14.70 Umbrella

Hours: 45 hours per week (Day & Night shifts)

Key responsibilities

  • Assist residents who need help to get in and out of bed, and to and from the toilet and other areas
  • Wash and bath residents in bed or in the bathroom, including care of hair, teeth, nails and feet.
  • Maintaining privacy, dignity, rights to independence and choice
  • Assist residents with toilet requirements giving and removing bedpans/urinals/commodes
  • Recording the output and fluid input when instructed
  • Cleansing of resident following elimination
  • Changing of soiled products
  • Dispose of soiled linen, clothing, waste etc., as defined in policies and procedures
  • Make beds and help to make residents comfortable
  • Prepare and serve fluids; assist residents to take fluids
  • Give assistance in serving meals by
  • Assisting with choice of food and drink
  • Preparing residents for eating and drinking and assisting the resident as necessary
  • Clean up spillages as they occur, using the appropriate equipment supplied (as specified in the Infection Control Policy)
  • Accompany residents to activities outside the Home
  • Assist colleagues such as the Activities Co-ordinator, as required
  • Observe and report any changes in a resident’s condition to the Nurse in Charge, and complete Daily
  • Care Notes for all residents, documenting the care given to each resident during the applicable shift
  • Assist residents to attend activities within the Home by the specified timetabled start time.

Skills required: Moving and handling, Bathing, Feeding, Toileting, Medication and helping with residents daily needs.

Requirements: · MUST have the Right to work and live in the UK.

· Basic Life Support & Moving and Handlining (Practical)

· DBS on update service

· Have at least 6 months or more experience as a health care assistant that we can reference for

· Be able to commit to getting compliant within the next few days . 2 satisfactory professional references
