Job Summary: Our client, a well-known and respected company in the food and beverage industry, is seeking an experienced Retail Manager to oversee and drive the success of their retail operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing food and beverage outlets, with a proven track record of meeting sales targets, delivering exceptional customer service, and leading a motivated team. This role is integral to maintaining the company’s reputation for quality and excellence in the market.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Store Operations Management:

Oversee daily operations of the retail store, ensuring that all processes run smoothly and efficiently.

Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organization, and visual merchandising that align with the brand’s image.

Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, food safety standards, and company policies.

Monitor inventory levels, manage stock control, and coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely restocking of products.

  1. Sales and Customer Service:

Achieve and exceed sales targets by implementing effective sales strategies and promotional activities.

Analyse sales data and customer feedback to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.

Provide exceptional customer service, addressing customer inquiries and resolving issues promptly to enhance the shopping experience.

Train and motivate staff to deliver high-quality customer interactions and upsell where appropriate.

  1. Team Leadership:

Lead, mentor, and develop a team of retail staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.

Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, updates, and provide training on product knowledge and customer service.

Manage staff scheduling, ensuring adequate coverage during peak times while optimising labour costs.

Handle recruitment, performance appraisals, and disciplinary actions as needed.

  1. Financial Management:

Prepare and manage budgets for the store, ensuring profitability and cost-effectiveness.

Track and report on financial performance, including sales, expenses, and profits, to senior management.

Implement measures to minimize waste and optimize resource usage, contributing to the overall financial health of the store.

  1. Marketing and Brand Representation:

Collaborate with the marketing team to execute in-store promotions, product launches, and other brand initiatives.

Ensure that the store’s branding and marketing materials are consistently presented and aligned with the company’s image.

Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and local communities to enhance brand loyalty.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Retail Manager or in a similar leadership role within the food and beverage industry.
  • Strong understanding of retail management best practices, including inventory control, merchandising, and customer service.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
  • Strong financial acumen, with experience in budgeting, sales analysis, and financial reporting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and resolve conflicts effectively.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, or a related field desirable but not essential.
  • Knowledge of local health and safety regulations related to the food and beverage industry.
  • Experience with retail management software and point-of-sale (POS) systems.

Working Conditions:

  • Full-time position with a requirement to work flexible hours, weekends, and holidays.
