Learning Support Assistant

Are you passionate about supporting young learners and making a real difference in their education? GSL Education is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a co-educational secondary school in Grays. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping students achieve their full potential and succeed in their studies.

Responsibilities:

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will be-

• Assisting teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons to secondary students.
• Providing 1:1 or small group support to students who require additional help.
• Helping creates a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning.
• Supporting students with special educational needs, including SEMH, ASC, MLD, and ADHD.
• Monitoring and recording student progress, providing feedback to teachers and staff.
• Implementing strategies to manage student behaviour and support the school’s behaviour management policy.
• Participating in team meetings and contribute to the planning and review of student support plans.

Requirements:

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will need-

• Previous experience as a Learning Support Assistant or in a similar role.
• Understanding of the secondary school curriculum.
• Relevant qualifications or training in education or youth work is appreciated (not a must).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
