About the Role: Somerset Council is seeking a dedicated and motivated Agency Worker to join our dynamic Family Safeguarding team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the community while working in a rewarding and fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting various departments within the council, ensuring that high standards of service are maintained.

Key Responsibilities:

• Within our Family Safeguarding Teams, you will be able to work alongside adult-focused practitioners, working within our teams, in the specialist areas of substance misuse, domestic abuse, and mental health, to inform assessments and plans.
• You will also work with children and families who are experiencing challenges around complex neglect, sexual harm, physical harm, risks outside of the home including child exploitation, and parental learning difficulties.
• Here in Somerset, our manageable caseloads let you be the innovative and creative social worker you want to be – undertaking direct work with children and young people to hear their voice and understand their experiences.
• You will work with parents and the wider family network, with access to Family Group Conferencing, to support them to identify strengths, tackle problems and change interactions and behaviours. With permanent and experienced Team Managers, you'll be well supported with regular and reflective group and personal supervision.s.

Qualifications and Experience:

• CSW/CQSW/DipSW/BA/MA in Social Work
• Proven post qualifying experience in working with childrens services
• Current Social Worker England registration
• Eligibility to work in the UK without work permit or visa restrictions
• Commitment to the safe care and well-being of vulnerable people
