Our client is a leading facilities management company and have a fantastic opportunity to join them on their Defence contract.

The client supports the military personnel in ensuring the base, barracks, airfields, military sites and living quarters are maintained to a high standard and continually improved.

The Gas Engineer would be responsible for undertaking a mixture of minor installation and maintenance (PPMs and Reactive) of commercial boilers with some general fabric maintenance jobs. You will be comfortable engaging with stakeholders in order to provide technical fault diagnostics where necessary. The successful candidate will have valid Commercial Gas tickets and have worked on a reactive maintenance contract previously.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Previous reactive maintenance experience
  • Core Safety: COCN1
  • Commercial Gas Qualifications: TPCP1A, ICPN1, CORT1, CIGA1
  • Domestic gas qualifications (would be useful): CCN1, CENWAT1, CPA1, ICAE1.
  • Capable installation skills  

You would be responsible for;

  • Ensure that Planned Preventative Maintenance is carried out in line with task schedules, frequencies and industry best practices
  • Identify any defects found and provide parts list and estimated timescales to complete the defects
  • Ensure Boilers are transported and handled in accordance with current Health & Safety Regulations
  • Establish and maintain a good working relationship with all colleagues and customers
  • Carry out installation, repairs, maintenance and plan operational duties, working with the various systems and reporting as requested
  • Likely to be involved with appliances such as small-scale plant rooms, centralised heating boilers, gas heaters etc
  • Likely to visit customer premises, (commercial), to fit, service and repair boilers and centralised heating systems that have broken down
  • Produce clear and concise written reports in a timely manner
  • Assess, dismantle, repair or replace relevant parts will be a common task - you will also deal with electronic programmers and controls on appliances such as centralised heating systems
  • Support the field service team and upkeep and maintain the various internal operational processes
  • You will be requireed to complete security clearance
