£35,000 - £40,000/annum Quarterly bonus

CNC Recruitment are seeking a skilled Electrical Design and Filed Service Engineer to join our client in Wincanton area- a well-respected engineering manufacturer.

As a member of the design team, to be responsible for providing technical support to the Sales Office and Sales Managers and liaising with customers to ensure stock and bespoke items are designed correctly, priced competitively, drawings are prepared accurately and drawing register maintained effectively.

Responsibilities:

Specific Tasks: Electrical Design Engineer

1. Prepare quotations and technical drawings, eg wiring schematics using AutoCAD. 2. Configure and test equipment before it leaves the workshop.

3. Maintain the design and test database by logging all product designs and test data accurately.

4. Provide technical support to colleagues and external customers.

5. Check and approve drawings for production.

6. Provide drawings to link to stock items where those do not exist.

7. Update old drawings and up-issue drawing numbers.

8. To be available for problem-solving, including on-site visits.

9. Support the business in new product designs (NPD).

10 Create and update CAD blocks for shared library.

11 Other duties as required by Manager.

Field Service Engineer (CMS and PQ)

1. Undertake site surveys and prepare report prior to installation or as part of fault finding.

2. Provide toolbox and system training for customers.

3. Undertake fault finding and electrical / mechanical repairs to CEL manufactured equipment.

4. Provide fault finding training to customer teams.

5. Adhere to all health and safety site procedures

6. Produce necessary risk assessments and method statements

Personal specification:

Essential:

  • Electrical Qualification.
  • Knowledge of a computer design package.
  • Control Panel design/component selection experience.
  • Experience of working independently on site.
  • Good communication skills – verbal and written.
  • Able to travel and work away from home occasionally.
  • Willingness to work flexibly (eg take on Production work/support sales).

Desirable:

  • AutoCAD training.
  • Significant employment history as panel design and builder.
  • Proven commercial skills.
  • Experience of project quotation.
  • Knowledge of distribution equipment/components.
  • Knowledge of street lighting.
  • Additional skills to contribute to team (eg ISO 9001, etc).
