About the Role

As the Student Training Restaurant and Coffee Shop Manager, you will:

  • Inspire and Lead: Engage and motivate students in our training restaurant, helping them acquire new and current hospitality skills.
  • Drive Excellence: Manage all aspects of the restaurant and coffee shop, ensuring high standards of food safety, hygiene, and customer service.
  • Boost Sales: Oversee budgets, drive sales, and manage marketing and social media promotions.
  • Collaborate: Work closely with the college marketing team and external stakeholders to plan and deliver exceptional events and student work experiences.
  • Support Learning: Facilitate training and teaching, preparing students for successful careers in the hospitality industry.

About You

  • Qualifications: Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject, minimum Level 2 Maths and English, and a Food Safety Qualification.
  • Experience: At least 3 years in the catering and hospitality industry, with front-of-house experience and a strong understanding of current industry trends.
  • Skills: Excellent organisational and IT skills, proficiency in social media promotion, and a commitment to customer-focused, student-centred learning.
  • Personal Qualities: A caring and professional manner, well-developed interpersonal skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.

Lets Teach Programme  
Let’s Teach The LET’s teach programme supports new members of teaching staff in terms of college systems and key teaching and learning areas including new staff lesson visits and postcard peeps. Each new member of staff has an allocated Lead Practitioner who works closely with them throughout the programme.  

Let’s Bloom
The LET’s Bloom Programme aims to connect our experienced and qualified teachers to share best practice and support continued risk-taking as we continue to add depth to our teaching craft. Teachers volunteer on this one year programme, working closely with the Learning Enhancement Team, capturing their experimentation in a journal.
