Job Title: HGV Test Centre Manager
Location: Cramlington, Northumberland
Salary: £45,000 - £48,000 per annum

A leading logistics company is seeking an experienced and dynamic HGV Test Centre Manager to oversee its facility in Cramlington, Northumberland. This role is perfect for an individual with a solid background in managing workshops that service or repair HGVs, PCVs, and Light Commercial Vehicles. Reporting directly to the Logistics Director, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of the test centre and workshop, driving business growth, and maintaining exceptional customer service standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily operations of the test centre and workshop with a focus on efficiency and productivity.
• Lead business development and sales initiatives to expand services.
• Manage budget and cost control, ensuring financial targets are met.
• Enforce strict health and safety standards throughout the facility.
• Develop and maintain strong customer relationships to ensure effective fleet maintenance.
• Plan and schedule workloads, including ATF lane management.
• Collaborate effectively with the DVSA.
• Negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive pricing on parts and services.
• Ensure the efficient operation of invoicing systems.

Requirements:

• Proven supervisory/managerial experience leading a team of technicians in an HGV workshop environment.
• Experience working with commercial fleets, including HGVs, PCVs, and light vehicles.
• Relevant mechanical engineering qualifications or time-served experience in HGV repair and maintenance.
• Strong team leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Flexibility and adaptability in managing daily operations.
• Strong IT skills are essential.
• An HGV Class 1 Driving Licence is preferred but not essential.
