Our client, a leading manufacturing company, is seeking a skilled and experienced Project Engineer to join their team. This full-time, permanent position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with maintenance and technical staff, providing essential troubleshooting, guidance, and support to production facilities.

Eligibility to work in the UK is essential as our client does not hold a sponsorship licence.

About the Role:

As a Project Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring ongoing improvements to the manufacturing environment by overseeing engineering projects from conception to completion. You will be responsible for scheduling, planning, forecasting, and managing all technical activities under your control, driving continuous improvements and ensuring project accuracy and quality. The role requires close collaboration with production staff, managers, and directors to achieve common goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead fault-finding efforts, identifying and implementing modifications to manufacturing equipment and processes to enhance production output, product quality, and equipment reliability.
  • Manage engineering projects, including revenue and capital projects, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
  • Collaborate with production and support services to identify new equipment requirements, prepare tenders, and oversee installation and commissioning.
  • Coordinate and manage contractors involved in projects or tasks.
  • Ensure that plant design, installation, testing, and commissioning are carried out according to contract conditions, with appropriate record-keeping throughout.
  • Maintain awareness of and ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and company policies.

Person Specification:

  • Ideally hold a degree in Engineering or a relevant field.
  • Strong technical knowledge and understanding of engineering principles.
  • Proven experience as a Project Engineer in an engineering industry.
  • Proficiency in 2D and 3D design software, preferably AutoCAD and Inventor.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Project or equivalent project tracking software.
  • Understanding of pneumatics and hydraulics.
  • Computer literate with strong communication skills at all levels.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams and manage multiple disciplines.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to adapt to new challenges and technologies.
  • Willingness to travel as required for specific projects.

Working Hours:

  • Monday to Thursday: 7:30 am to 4:00 pm with a half-hour lunch break.
  • Friday: 7:30 am to 12:30 pm, no lunch break.
  • Total of 37 hours per week, paid monthly.
