School-Based Youth Justice Prevention Officer

• £17 - £21 per hourly rate

Liverpool City Council are looking for a School-Based Youth Justice Prevention Officer to join their Prevention Team.

About the role:

• This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a newly expanded Prevention Team working with young people, parents and carers in school settings as part of a multi-disciplinary team to improve young people’s engagement with education, improve attendance and support young people on their education journey.
• Your role will be to support young people to improve their attendance in school as well as improving their engagement in their education placement.
• The team works collaboratively with stakeholders including schools, safeguarding teams, health care providers, CAMHS and the Police to achieve the best outcomes for children in education settings.
• The role will provide the opportunity to develop creative, strengths-based approaches to working with children and families.
• The successful candidate will receive regular supervision and support to enhance skills, knowledge and experience of working with additional support needs in their education settings.
• You will be based within the school although you will also be expected to support young people and their families within the community.
• You will also be able to work from home at times where the demands of the duties allow.
• As it is expected that you will be working within communities it is essential that you are a Car Driver/have access to appropriate transport to travel citywide.
• Please note, within Liverpool Targeted Services this role is known as 'Targeted Services Officer'.
