Our client manufactures specialist engineering materials and has built a strong business based on delivering technical excellence and high standards of customer service.
Working Pattern:
- Double days
- £35,000 - £41,000 (DOE)
- 3,4 & 5 Axis experience
- Medium to heavy machining experience is preferred
- Completed an engineering apprenticeship
- Experience working on machines with Mazak or Fanuc controls
- Familiar with CMM software
- The role requires a good level of technical machine ability which will including proving drawings, running & setting machines and operating to a high level.
- Set and operate 3, 4 & 5 axis vertical milling machines as required
- Set and prove out job, obtaining a first of job has been proved out
- Read and understand engineering drawings
- Calculate dimensions and tolerances and monitor the speeds and feeds of the machine being operated
- Set controls to regulate machining, enter commands to retrieve, input or edit CNC controls
- Support routine machine maintenance
- Check manufactured parts for compliance to the drawing
- Operate CMM machines
- Ensure work in carried out safely
- Ensure that 5S, TPM and other programmes are sustained and worked to
- Communicate any issues to the engineering and technical departments.
