Ambitek are looking to recruit a Panel Builder- Electrical Assembler/Wireman for our client in Warrington on a permanent basis.

Working in the engineering department, creating AutoCAD drawings, reading customer or supplier drawings, creating, and reviewing works orders, planning daily work, drilling, and assembling of distribution boards, control stations, junction boxes, safety and isolating switches or any other assembly work that may be undertaken. Communicating with customers and suppliers, over the telephone, email or face to face. Occasional site or customer office visits

Responsibilities:

• Friendly communication with colleagues, customers & suppliers
• Providing information relating to products and understanding customer requirements
• Handling enquires, producing quotations, dealing with sales orders
• Reviewing & Interpreting schematic, customer or supplier drawings
• Drafting or modifying complete sets of electrical drawings using AutoCAD
• Producing acknowledgements & works orders
• Managing stock control & daily planning of work
• Use of machinery for drilling entries
• Assembling and wiring various products including junction boxes, distribution boards and control stations
• Self-inspection of work (first off, last off etc.)
• Communicating and working with the sales and purchasing office
• Final inspection of other assembly work
• Electrical current testing of assembled product using a high voltage tester
• Onsite modifications on an ad-hoc basis

Minimum Educational Qualifications:

• Electrical qualifications
• AutoCAD qualifications, using CAD LT 2d, CAD electrical. 
• Familiarity with  or E or ES plan would also be an advantage
• City & Guilds Level 2 

Minimum Previous Experience:

• Construction & assembly of electrical products such as control panels

Minimum Additional Training:

• On the job training, drilling, assembly, engraving, testing
• Internal product training on all assembly products
• Full Manufacturer product, and Ex compliance training

Other Skills, which would helpful but not necessary:

• Some sales experience
• IT Literate
• Numerate
• Flexible and “Can Do” attitude
• Driving Licence useful but not essential
• Candidate will also be required to travel occasionally for training on manufacturer products both in the UK and Europe so must be able to travel.

Hours: Monday to Thursday 08:00-17:00 / Friday 08:00-15:00 (45 minute lunch break)

20 days holiday per year pro-rata plus statutory holidays
