Field Service Engineer

Our client, a leading company in the controls and automation sector, is currently seeking a Field Service Engineer to join their team in Runcorn, Cheshire. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly driven individual with a strong track record within the industrial automation sector. The role involves providing first-class support while being the technical focal point from handover by sales to project closure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Initiating and planning projects, including system design and SIL classification
- Designing in detail and managing the safety lifecycle
- Configuring systems and providing technical specifications to procurement
- Supervising suppliers and conducting internal testing
- Leading Factory Acceptance Tests, site installation, and commissioning
- Conducting Site Acceptance Tests and ensuring customer acceptance
- Monitoring the quality of work and formalising project closures
Job Requirements:
- Experience in a similar role within the oil & gas, petrochemical, or industrial automation environment
- Minimum HNC qualification in an engineering or process-related subject
- Understanding of ISO 9001 and the Health and Safety at Work Act
- Full UK driving licence
- Highly motivated and flexible, willing to work at various locations across the UK and offshore
- Values respect, collaboration, and integrity
- Ability to work independently and as part of a structured team
- Confident communicator with a professional manner
Applicants with offshore certificates are highly desired, though full training can be provided.
