Field Service Engineer

Our client, a leading company in the controls and automation sector, is currently seeking a Field Service Engineer to join their team in Runcorn, Cheshire. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly driven individual with a strong track record within the industrial automation sector. The role involves providing first-class support while being the technical focal point from handover by sales to project closure.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Initiating and planning projects, including system design and SIL classification
  • Designing in detail and managing the safety lifecycle
  • Configuring systems and providing technical specifications to procurement
  • Supervising suppliers and conducting internal testing
  • Leading Factory Acceptance Tests, site installation, and commissioning
  • Conducting Site Acceptance Tests and ensuring customer acceptance
  • Monitoring the quality of work and formalising project closures


Job Requirements:

  • Experience in a similar role within the oil & gas, petrochemical, or industrial automation environment
  • Minimum HNC qualification in an engineering or process-related subject
  • Understanding of ISO 9001 and the Health and Safety at Work Act
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Highly motivated and flexible, willing to work at various locations across the UK and offshore
  • Values respect, collaboration, and integrity
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a structured team
  • Confident communicator with a professional manner


Applicants with offshore certificates are highly desired, though full training can be provided.
