Are you passionate about food and eager to contribute to creating exciting new products? We have an incredible opportunity for a Development Technologist to join our dynamic NPD (New Product Development) team.

Role Overview:

As a Development Technologist, you will play a vital role in supporting our Product Managers. You will be responsible for organising, preparing, and cooking samples and assisting in the development of innovative products. Your contribution will be key to driving our product range forward and ensuring we stay at the forefront of the food industry. Key

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing products in line with customer briefs, covering a wide range of categories, including chicken, duck, fish, seafood, vegetarian, and vegan.
  • Support customer presentations and quality panels, which may involve travel to customer sites.
  • Communicate effectively with customers on behalf of product managers.
  • Complete necessary development documents for both customers and suppliers.
  • Maintain category knowledge through store visits, market data analysis, and tracking food trends.
  • Collaborate with internal and external contacts, including procurement, factory, technical, and supply chain teams.
  • Manage sample preparation, packing, and shipment.
  • Cooked samples for tasting panels and managed stock rotation of samples.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A degree in Food Science/Technology or a related discipline is preferred.
  • A minimum of 1 year’s experience in an NPD department is desirable.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Passion for food and knowledge of restaurant and retail trends.
  • Self-motivated, capable of working independently, and demonstrating personal integrity.
  • A valid UK driving license is required.
