About the Role:

We are working in partnership with a prestigious main contractor to recruit an experienced and motivated Site Manager for an exciting £10 million school project in Market Harborough. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled professional to lead the on-site delivery of a high-profile educational development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Site Leadership: Oversee and manage all on-site activities, coordinating the efforts of subcontractors, suppliers, and the on-site team to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Programme Management: Maintain the construction programme, ensuring key milestones are met and adapting to any changes or challenges as they arise.
  • Quality Assurance: Monitor the quality of work performed on-site, ensuring compliance with project specifications and company standards.
  • Health & Safety: Implement and enforce strict health and safety protocols, ensuring a safe working environment at all times.
  • Client & Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the main point of contact for the client, architects, and other key stakeholders, providing regular updates and addressing any issues promptly.
  • Budget Control: Manage project costs effectively, ensuring the project is delivered within the allocated budget while maintaining high standards.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all construction activities comply with relevant legislation, regulations, and company policies.


Candidate Profile:

  • Proven experience as a Site Manager, ideally with experience in educational or similar public sector projects.
  • A strong track record of successfully delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage a diverse team and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Thorough understanding of construction processes, techniques, and best practices.
  • Strong commitment to health and safety, with a comprehensive knowledge of relevant regulations.
  • SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid certifications are essential.
  • A relevant construction-related qualification (HNC/HND/Degree) is highly desirable.
