Liverpool City Council is looking for experienced Supervising social worker. Hourly rate is £35 p/h.

Responsabilities

• Oversee and manage a caseload of foster families, ensuring compliance with agency policies and legal requirements.

• Provide ongoing support, guidance, and supervision to foster carers, addressing any challenges and facilitating their development.

• Conduct assessments of prospective foster carers, participate in recruitment activities, and contribute to the matching process of children to suitable foster homes.

• Organize and deliver training sessions for foster carers to enhance their skills and knowledge, ensuring they are well-prepared to meet the needs of the children in their care.

• Ensure all foster care activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and standards, including completing and maintaining accurate records and documentation.

• Provide immediate support and intervention in crisis situations involving foster families, coordinating with other professionals as needed.

• Work collaboratively with other professionals, such as healthcare providers, educators, and child protection services, to support the well-being of the child.

• Regularly review and monitor the performance and progress of foster carers, providing feedback and implementing improvement plans when necessary.

• Advocate on behalf of foster carers and children, ensuring their voices are heard and their needs are met within the foster care system.

• Uphold safeguarding practices, identifying and addressing any risks to the safety and well-being of children in foster care.

Requirement:

• * 2 years post qualifying experience
• * Be SWE registered
• * Experience in a fostering team
