The Role

A vacancy has arisen for a Senior Reporting Accountant to join BAE Systems for an initial 12 month contract. The successful applicant will be working closely with the Head of Financial Control Shared Services, to identify and implement process improvements, to ensure finance processes are efficient, resilient and robust.

Role Responsibilities:

• Identify weaknesses and improve controls within the finance team to maintain the accuracy of P&L and Balance Sheet.

• Design, implement, and monitor/maintain internal control procedures to safeguard company assets.

• Conduct periodic assessments of internal controls and recommend improvements.

• Recommend improvements to financial process.

• Evaluate financial and operational processes for compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

• Identify areas of financial risk and work collaboratively to develop strategies for mitigation.

• Training team members on financial control best practices.

• Collaborating with various departments to achieve financial objectives.

• Maintain comprehensive and well-organised control compliance documentation.

What BAE Systems are looking for, from you:

• Professional certifications such as ACA/ ACCA/ CIMA.

• Proven experience in an internal controls or external audit role.

• Experience with up to date knowledge to apply accounting standards (UKGAAP/IFRS), specifically IFRS 16 Leases, IAS38 & IFRS15.

• A focus on corporate governance and internal audit as UK SOX policies are implemented.

• Strong knowledge in Financial Control.

• Experience using ERP systems, including SAP.

• Knowledge of Shared Service environments would be advantageous.

• Proficiency in internal control systems and financial software.

• Knowledge and usage of Tagetik system (advantageous).

This role requires you to obtain a basic disclosure along with employment reference checks before starting.

The Umbrella rate quoted above is the Gross Umbrella rate (i.e. the rate we pay to the Umbrella Company inclusive of ALL employment costs). Please note, the rate paid by the Umbrella will be less, as will a Limited Deemed rate or Agency PAYE rate. Please get in touch to discuss the rates via these different payment vehicles.
