Overview: This company is a leading player in the FCMG Manufacturing industry in the UK, renowned for its extensive range of branded and private label products. The company is recognized as one of Britain's most chosen FMCG brands.

I'm looking for an Engineering Team Leader. The ideal candidate will have experience leading teams in high-volume, complex manufacturing environments and be motivated by the challenges this role entails.

Please note that this role is hands on 80/20

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, motivate, and coach the engineering team to achieve optimal performance.
  • Manage contractors and maintenance suppliers, conducting performance reviews.
  • Mentor Eden apprentices, supporting their development.
  • Implement and support the Maintenance Excellence roadmap for the site.
  • Ensure adherence to planned maintenance schedules through efficient resource planning.
  • Provide adequate plant coverage as needed.
  • Analyze CMMS data for forward planning and equipment improvement opportunities.
  • Fully support end-to-end Planned Maintenance Systems (PMS).
  • Review maintenance activities to identify and implement cost-effective improvements.
  • Conduct RCA/5 Why analysis and other problem-solving techniques.
  • Support the site and departmental 5S program.
  • Develop and implement maintenance improvement techniques.
  • Drive and support Reliability Centered Maintenance/FMECA activities.
  • Liaise with manufacturers and suppliers to promote standardization, improvements, and cost-saving opportunities.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage team performance, including conducting reviews, providing coaching, and addressing employee relations issues.
  • Communicate organizational goals and act as a role model for company values.
  • Align activities with business objectives, understanding their impact on the bottom line.
  • Collaborate with other teams to drive business improvements.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with Health & Safety standards.
  • Deep understanding of Operational Excellence principles, coaching the team on their application.
  • Utilize opportunities to enhance processes and encourage engineering-based Operational Excellence projects.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Experience in engineering and team leadership roles.
  • Experience in fast-paced manufacturing environments.
  • Proficiency with process equipment and P&ID diagrams.
  • Strong communication skills and an approachable disposition.
