A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a leading, multidisciplinary building consultancy in the heart of Brighton, Sussex. Our client is dedicated to delivering innovative solutions and exceptional service across a wide range of projects for both private and public sector clients. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will quickly become an integral part of their team, working on their own portfolio of projects and building relationships with clients and stakeholders alike.

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in managing the financial aspects of projects from feasibility studies through to negotiation of final accounts. You will be responsible for:

  • Project Cost Management: Preparing cost estimates, budgets, and feasibility studies.
  • Tendering and Procurement: Leading the tendering process, evaluating bids, and negotiating contracts.
  • Financial Reporting: Monitoring project progress, managing cash flow, and preparing detailed financial reports.
  • Risk Management: Identifying and mitigating potential risks to ensure projects stay on track.
  • Client Liaison: Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Team Leadership: Mentoring and supporting junior team members to foster a collaborative and high-performing work environment.


What we're looking for:

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in Quantity Surveying, preferably within a consultancy environment.
  • Qualifications: A degree in Quantity Surveying & Commercial Management. Candidates that are chartered with the RICS or working through their APC will be at an advantage
  • Skills: Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills. Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., CostX, Bluebeam).
  • Attributes: A proactive and innovative approach to problem-solving. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
