I am hiring for a secondary school in Weston-super-Mare who are looking for LSA staff that can support on a casual and long term basis in their SEN department, supporting a mixture of students who may or may not be involved in mainstream school classes. This school are particularly keen to find staff that have a experience working with students with ASD due to a particular shortage, however any SEND specialisms are appreciated. Both primary and secondary experienced staff will be considered due to the variety of students that need support. The setting is centred on pupil’s development, as well as an intrinsic desire to make progress both academically and with their own emotional, social and behavioural skills.

The school is seeking out a passionate team player to take on the role. A SEND LSA who can bring new dimension to what can be achieved in a short-term role with potential to become a long-term placement for the right SEND LSA. The position will involve working with students across all key stages with diagnosis of Autism / ASD, SLD / Severe Learning Difficulties, and challenging behaviours. A proactive thinker with the ability to take control of situations confidently is necessary.

The successful SEND LSA will have:

  • Experience working with children, preferably experience with additional needs / disabilities
  • Experience working with students with Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) and challenging behaviours
