MMP Consultancy is seeking a Class 2c/d Building Control Inspector on behalf of a Local Authority based in Northamptonshire. The position is initially for 3 months however is subject to extension. The rate of pay is £60ph umbrella, over a 37 hour working week from Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities:

* Pre-application Advice: Provide expert guidance to both professionals and non-professionals in the construction field.
* Plan Appraisal: Assess applications for all types of buildings, ensuring compliance with building regulations and standards.
* Negotiation & Amendments: Work closely with applicants and agents to make necessary improvements, ensuring approval of applications.
* Regulation Approvals: Issue approvals or rejections based on compliance with Building Regulations.
* Site Surveys: Conduct thorough site inspections to ensure construction adheres to regulations and legislation.
* Technical Support: Offer advice and support to applicants and builders, guiding them to comply with Building Regulations during site work.
* Records Management: Document all inspections and plan assessments, minimising liability and maintaining high performance standards.
* Issue Resolution: Handle contraventions of Building Regulations, including negotiations or instigating legal action when necessary.

Requirements:


* Extensive knowledge of Building Regulations and allied legislation.
* Strong negotiation skills with the ability to mediate and resolve complex issues.
* Experience in handling site surveys, technical support, and plan vetting.
* The ability to handle dangerous structures and emergency situations.
* Excellent communication and customer service skills.
