Astute's Power team is partnering with a leading energy company to recruit a Quality Assurance Engineer to support on it's power plant and gas storage projects across the UK.

Responsibilities and duties

Reporting to the Team Leader you will:

  • Provide support on power plant and gas storage projects, outages and maintenance activities across a fleet of assets in the UK.
  • Ensure best practice across functions by working collaboratively and benchmarking comparisons to achieve optimum performance throughout the business.
  • Work to improve quality performance by working cross-functionally using stakeholder management skills.
  • Ensure all activities meet internal and external audit standards and identifying action plans for rectifying deficiencies.
  • Carry out regular audits of the work control management process.
  • Ensure that projects meet quality standards required to minimise cost and maximise customer satisfaction.
  • Deliver and manage quality initiatives, working with stakeholders to ensure compliance and the highest standards of HSSEQ performance.



Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

  • A HNC or engineering degree qualification in either Project Management or Quality Assurance, with process plant knowledge.
  • Experience in ISO9001 Quality Management Systems Requirements and Root Cause Analysis Techniques are essential.
  • A safety management qualification (IOSH Managing Safely / NEBOSH certificate) is desirable.
  • QA and QC experience in either power generation or a heavy process sector.
  • Full UK Drivers Licence as this is a travelling role.

The Quality Assurance Engineer role would suit someone who is:

  • An excellent communicator and able to work across functions with teams on site.
  • Self-motivated and proactive
  • Passionate about continuous improvements and implementing process change to enhance performance.
  • This role can include stays away for up to 3 months during outages, Monday-Friday. Therefore, this role would suit someone who has a flexible approach to travel.
