We are seeking an experienced Commercial Lead to join a highly reputable Civil Engineering organisation on an initial 4 month contract to support a major capital project covering power, chemical, oil, and gas industries.

As the Commercial Lead you will be responsible for managing major EPC or EPCM contracts as well as providing commercial support to the client's Project Director and wider project team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the client in the front-end development process (knowledge of FEL gates is desirable)
  • Analyse EPCM contractors' cost, commercial, and contract submissions, comparing them against benchmarks.
  • Lead cost reviews and provide commercial input to change management processes.
  • Review cost elements such as people costs, major equipment costs, and sub-contractor costs.
  • Ensure adherence to the IChemE form of contract and provide guidance on contract management.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience within civil engineering or relevant sector (power, chemical, oil, gas)
  • Experience in a senior commercial role on major capital projects
  • Deep understanding of major EPC or EPCM contracts.
  • Knowledge of the IChemE form of contract is highly desirable.
