MECHANICAL CONTRACT ENGINEER - ENVIRONMENT NOTTINGHAMSHIRE

WATER INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE, Inc Pumping Stations PipeworkSewage, Clean Water and Chemical Dosing required.

What will youl be doing?

  • An opportunity has arisen for an mechanically biased Contract Engineer, experienced at working as a key member of a team successfully delivering schemes of varying sizes predominately to the Water Industry in sewage and clean water.
  • Reporting to the Project Manager, you will work alongside the project delivery team to ensure the design, procurement, financial control and site activities are achieved.
  • Outline engineering from inception to completion of schemes utilizing in-house resources, site installation and construction personnel
  • Delivery of water M&E projects e.g., Pumping Stations and pipework arrangements. Early site investigation works in coordination with the client, design, and project team Production and review of health and safety documentation (risk assessments & method statements / Project management plans). Procurement of materials
  • Attend/undertake factory, site and works testing, commissioning and client training
  • Attendance and input into internal and client design reviews, working closely with the design team to gather all required information, participate in regular design reviews and Hazard Studies to develop the best solution Involvement with cost to complete / budget reviews with the project delivery teams
  • Negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors Involvement with preparation of client quotations assisting the tendering team with pricing and durations.
  • Assistance with the evaluation and submission of claims for variation works Liaison with site manager and site teams to ensure work is completed to programme, budget and quality
  • Developing Inspection and Test Plans and ensuring they are completed as the scheme progresses Innovation whilst maintaining compliance to current standards
  • Preparation & management of project programmes Proactive approach to maintaining high standards of Health & Safety performance
  • To work with the team to develop and close out all contract documentation such as, “As built” drawings, Commissioning Manuals and Operation and Maintenance Manuals


About You:

  • An industry applicable electrical ONC/HNC/B.Eng or NVQ equivalent Proven experience within the Water Industry Chemical dosing experience desirable but not essential Commercial and contractual awareness
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft packages including Project Desire to understand and promote the Company purpose, vision, values and culture Trustworthy and ethical approach, exercising discretion where required
  • Organized, structured and professional, with a passion for excellence Flexibility, resilience and the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels
  • Excellent communication skills (email/phone/face to face) Commitment to the provision of excellent customer service Proven influencing and negotiation skills to both internal and external stakeholders Experience of leading and managing functions where required
