About Us:
Total Staff is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a prestigious student accommodation provider in Nottingham. We are looking for a dedicated and highly organized Assistant Operations Manager to join the team at a large, vibrant student residence housing 800 students. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in Purpose-Built Student Accommodation (PBSA) or a fast-paced hospitality or hotel management environment.
Role Overview:
As the Assistant Operations Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of the accommodation. Working closely with the Operations Manager, you will help oversee all aspects of the property, ensuring a safe, welcoming, and efficient living environment for our students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Management: Assist in managing daily operations, ensuring the accommodation is well-maintained and operates efficiently.
- Team Leadership: Support the management of on-site teams, including maintenance, housekeeping, and front desk staff, fostering a positive and productive working environment.
- Resident Support: Help manage the student experience, addressing any issues or concerns promptly to maintain high levels of resident satisfaction.
- Health & Safety: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, conducting regular checks and implementing necessary improvements.
- Facilities Management: Coordinate maintenance and repair activities, ensuring the property is kept in top condition.
- Budget Assistance: Aid in managing budgets, monitoring expenses, and ensuring cost-effective operations.
- Crisis Response: Support in handling emergencies and implementing safety protocols.
- Event Management: Assist in organizing events and activities to enhance the student community.
About You:
- Experience in PBSA, hospitality, or hotel management.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with residents and staff.
- A proactive problem solver who can stay calm under pressure.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
- Financial awareness and experience with budget management.
