Lead Application Engineer

As a Lead Application Engineer, you will pave the way and set standards for the Application Team. You will be working with both internal and external stakeholders, supporting corporate systems, hosted on Azure.

Our client is operating a high availability environment, providing live streaming and data services to external clients. The client is using cutting edge technology to achieve their high performance and stiving towards technology improvements and efficiencies.
 
Your technical mindset will allow you to know what good looks like and work closely with an external Service Desk, you will act as an escalation point and provide technical knowledge to resolve issues. The Application Engineers within the team hold 3rd line technical capabilities, having an understanding to this level is essential. Sitting on review meetings to analyse service and escalation points along with the Operations Manager.
 
Your experience with acting as a Senior/Lead will support the team with bringing new ideas to the table, coaching through scenarios and striving towards continuous improvement across the team.
 
Applications are written using microservices architecture, having an understanding of the environment would be highly advantageous to this role.
 
About you –
  • Experience acting Senior/Lead within a team, coaching mentoring colleagues
  • Application/Platform experience, supporting users up to 3rd line
  • Azure experience
  • Kubernetes (desirable)
  • Message brokers – Apache/Red Hat (desirable)
 
Hybrid working – 2x days office-based, 3x days working remotely
Office location – Milton Keynes
Salary up to £55,000 + benefits
