Company Overview:

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced practitioner to undertake a Senior Practitioner/Room Leader role at a lovely setting which provides high quality childcare and Early Years education, located in the vibrant coastal town of Formby. Our Room Leader will oversee the day to day running of the toddler room, supporting the management team and working towards becoming the third in charge for the nursery.

Key Duties & Responsibilities for our Senior Early Years Practitioner/Room Leader will include:

  • Manage the day-to-day running of the toddler room
  • Lead a small team of staff to support the delivery of our curriculum, ensuring all children are receiving the best opportunities for learning and development
  • Be an amazing role model to the children and to your team
  • Be a key person for a group of children
  • Ensure all policies, procedures and core values are adhered to
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and Safeguarding regulations
  • Ensure all records are completed accurately to a high standard
  • Work in close partnership to develop and maintain strong relationships with parents/carers
  • Gain knowledge of management procedures, supporting the management team and working towards becoming the third in charge for the setting

Essential Skills and Experience Required:

  • Previous, recent experience in an Early Years setting
  • Enthusiastic with a passion to deliver high quality childcare
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills
  • Strong knowledge of EYFS, Ofsted and Safeguarding requirements
  • Paediatric first aid, DBS
  • A minimum level 3 childcare qualification is a requirement for this role

Location: Formby L37 with good local transport links

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week across 4.5 days during the opening hours of 7.30am to 5.45pm
