Our Digital Services Group (DSG) is a diverse business within a business at MASS. They provide a full spectrum of digital capabilities and technological requirements for customers in the most secure settings. They have a favourable influence on national security initiatives for the United Kingdom and its strategic partners throughout the world.

Testament to their current success as a division and their future growth plans, they are developing their methods of working and infrastructure to enable that growth. As part of this, they are looking to bring in a technically credible, customer-centric Pre-Sales Engineer to support in early-stage conversations with prospective and current customers.

You will be based at our Cambridgeshire Head Office, but this is primarily a field-based role with regular UK travel and occasional overseas travel, depending on customer location.

How you’ll support us

You will be the connecting piece, internally, to stakeholders in our Sales, Product and Delivery teams, and externally, to stakeholders within prospective and current customers. You’ll be the technical mind involved in early-stage engagement for prospective customer instructions, seeing solutions through to delivery.

You’ll lead in deciphering customer problems and needs, consulting with them to see the bigger picture and focussing into the granular details. You’ll translate those findings into proposed solutions, lead with customer demos and support with technical aspects of the bids and sales processes and hand over to technical delivery teams on successful contract awards.

It will be quite a varied role, with each secure customer and project being entirely unique.

The invaluable experience you’ll bring, to help us achieve more

We’re expecting that you’ve been in a customer-facing position, previously, so have had experience of translating complex requirements into solutions, and conveying complex solutions to audiences of varying technical abilities:

Essential experience

  • Working with a technical environment using ITSM tooling
  • Working within ISO:9001 / 27001 / 20000 quality frameworks
  • Able to describe technical product offerings or solutions clearly to a non-technical audience
  • Demonstratable exposure to common IT solutions such as:
  1. Cloud SaaS, IaaS, PaaS offerings
  2. Dev Ops / Software solutions
  3. IT Infrastructure such as Servers, Storage, Networking
  4. Cyber knowledge such as Vulnerability/Penetration Testing, IDS, IPS

Desirable experience

  • Understanding of government security classifications
  • Understanding of Secure by Design and accreditation processes
  • Experience in designed and building classified systems

Our non-negotiables:

Due to the highly secure nature of the projects that you will be involved with, you must be:

  • UK National and eligible to work in the UK
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain a UK Government Developed Vetting security clearance
