Project Engineer (Flexlay)

TEXO Recruitment are delighted to be recruiting for a Flexlay Project Engineer on behalf of our external client based in Aberdeen.

The suitable candidate will be responsible for delivering assigned technical packages in support of the sales and delivery functions. Working closely with the sales team during late proposal stages and with project managers throughout the delivery stage, the Flexlay Project Engineer ensures that clients' technical requirements are clearly understood and addressed appropriately at every project phase.


Areas of Responsibility:

  • Collaborate with the sales team to ensure a clear understanding of the customers technical requirements
  • Work closely with the sales team during later proposal stages to fully align suitable equipment to perform operational tasks onshore & offshore, ensuring technical feasibility and alignment with client needs.
  • Support meetings with relevant sales team members during live projects or ongoing tenders 
  • Ensure customers’ requirements are clearly understood and defined, work to incorporate them into setup reports and the project management plan.
  • Assist in preparing technical deliverables for rental projects, such as project specifications, reports, and documentation.
  • Manage risks to avoid project delays, cost variances or reputational damage.
  • Contribute to successful delivery of technical packages for rental projects, ensuring they meet client expectations and specifications.
  • Supports the management of all project interfaces between the Rental BU & MDL Engineering, or 3rd party Engineer.
  • Knowledge in current good engineering practice.
  • Sign & issue technical documentation as originator or checker, accepting responsibility for its adequacy.
  • Support the development of project-specific procedures for the implementation of workscopes, including method statements, operating manuals, FAT procedures, etc.


Candidates Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering or a related field or equivalent field, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong technical and project management skills
  • Excellent communication (verbal & written), presentation & interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team-orientated environment.
  • Attention to detail: Ability to meticulously review technical documentation, project plans and specifications to ensure accuracy and compliance with client requirements
