Permanent, Full-Time

Monday - Thursday: 8am - 4:30pm, Friday: 8am - 1pm (Early Finish Friday!)

We are seeking a dedicated Project Engineer with technical expertise and a strong commitment to project timelines. As a central part of the Projects team, you will play a key role in driving, supporting and assisting all areas of our client’s business to successfully deliver rack-built alarm and communication systems for the Oil, Gas, Nuclear and Renewable sectors.

Your responsibilities will include managing priorities, adapting to changing deadlines and leading continuous improvement initiatives. You must balance self-sufficiency with collaboration, exhibit strong communication skills and maintain the highest level of attention to detail. Your ability to motivate and work with the entire organisation to achieve results is crucial.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure on-time delivery according to the project schedule established at handover.
  • Utilise technical knowledge to liaise with internal departments, suppliers and customers promptly.
  • Take ownership of projects from receipt of purchase order to delivery and installation.
  • Produce electrical and mechanical project drawings.
  • Generate appropriate technical project documentation.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation, particularly red-penned drawings.
  • Provide support to the CAD team as needed.
  • Organise and coordinate projects.
  • Assist the build team with design interpretation to minimise production stoppages.
  • Collaborate with the Sales Team and customers to ensure project solutions meet customer requirements, managing changes and overspend.
  • Seek technical support from senior engineers when necessary.
  • Coordinate with the development team for customisations in a timely manner to maintain project flow.

Requirements:

  • Essential Qualifications: HNC, HND, Level 3 or 4 Apprenticeship, or a degree in an electrical or electronics-related subject. OR Over 3 years of practical electronics experience with a basic understanding of simple electronic circuits.
  • Commitment to and ownership of the project from start to finish.
  • Basic understanding of electronics and electrical systems (e.g., Relays, PSUs, Contactors).
  • Experience with CAD.
  • Customer-facing experience.
  • Clear, concise written and verbal communication in English (many customers have English as a second or third language).
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and seek help when needed.
  • Capacity to inspire change and identify areas for continuous improvement.
