RUNCORN office based FREIGHT EXPORT LOGISTICS role has materialised to work for an expanding and award winning manufacturer of anilox rolls, anilox sleeves and cylinders used in the flexographic, metal decoration and lithographic print industries worldwide.

The role is to be responsible for the logistics process for exporting our clients product both domestically and globally in the most efficient and cost-effective manner whilst ensuring that high quality service is maintained.

The role includes arranging delivery of our clients product from their UK depot via most modes of transport including; road, sea and air and may also involve the transportation of hazardous goods and the documentation surrounding this. An essential part of the role is to liaise with various departments within the business as well as external stakeholders to ensure that deadlines are met and strong communication throughout the supply chain is upheld.

Key Responsibilities :
- To facilitate the shipping of our clients products globally.
- To arrange transportation of products in a timely manner according to the manufacturing schedule and in liaison with their Dispatch Department.
- To work closely with the Dispatch, Customer Service and Operations Departments to ensure a cohesive approach to the manufacture and shipping of their products and ensuring that strong communication is maintained across all departmen
- To maintain a current knowledge of shipping legislation and documentation (to include shipping of hazardous products).
- To prepare all order documentation.
- To ensure that warehouse capacity is kept at optimal levels and that products are shipped effectively following manufacture.
- To monitor activities throughout the manufacturing process to ensure that deadlines are met.
- To continually review transportation rates and to be involved in the selection of preferred suppliers to ensure that our export process is both cost effective and suitable for customer requirements.
- To keep accurate records and to analyse budget costs / delivery deadlines and provide reports for Management.
- To monitor quality control and any dispatch delays.
- To ensure that all invoices are processed without delay.

KNOWLEDGE and KEY SKILLS REQUIRED :

- Experience with importing and exporting goods (knowledge of exporting hazardous goods desirable).
- Knowledge of Customs & Excise requirements.
- Knowledge of relevant import and export documentation.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Strong MS Office knowledge (Word, Excel and Outlook).
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Ability to create and manage working databases / spreadsheets.
- Ability to deal with overseas enquiries - end customer and distribution (by telephone and email).
- Knowledge of Anilox manufacture / printing and production processes.
- Excellent "can do" attitude. Flexibility with a willingness to work additional hours when work levels require.
- A proactive team player with good attention to detail.
- Good administration and time management skills.
- The ability to work well under pressure and to work to deadlines.
- Methodical approach.
