Hours: Full Time, Permanent

Salary: £25,158 - £41,919 per annum

Animal Management Lecturer – The Role:

Our Animal Management Team are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and organised member of staff to further the development of the department. You should have the ability to deliver high quality, inspiring theory and practical teaching sessions, with strong industry links, to give our learners an exceptional learning experience.

You will be responsible for teaching and developing a range of courses within Animal Management from Level 2 to Level 5, with possible future course leadership opportunities.

We require someone with who can act as a role model for aspiring animal managers, possessing personal qualities, values, and high standards of animal welfare that students can aspire to.

Animal Management Lecturer - Key Responsibilities:

- Deliver high quality teaching and learning, providing students with a planned learning experience, managing the learning process, guiding and supporting learners

- Act as a personal tutor to a group of students offering pastoral care

- Provide assignment and assessment material appropriate to each specific programme

- Ensure effective co-ordination of curriculum involvement in all college activities

- Evaluate and assess the work of students in relation to the curriculum criteria

- Produce schemes of work and lesson plans in accordance with current best practice

- Set and assess work and provide opportunities for student feedback

- Engage with the management team to ensure high quality teaching and learning occurs

- Work towards and exceed, achievement objectives and success measures for your groups

- Attend programme area meetings and contribute to continual quality improvement

Animal Management Lecturer – You:

- Teaching qualification Level 5 or commitment to work towards during employment

- Minimum Level 4 qualification in related animal field

- GCSE in English & Maths

- Knowledge of assessment procedures

- Understanding of current developments in the subject area

- If you don't have a teaching qualification, New College Swindon will sponsor a successful candidate to gain qualifications alongside their teaching commitments.
