Payroll Administrator

Are you an experienced administrator with a payroll background? Are you passionate about ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing? Our client is looking for an exceptional Payroll Administrator to join their team at an organisation based in Saltburn-by-the-Sea.

About the role:

As a Payroll Administrator, you will play a crucial role in supporting the HR and Finance departments of our client organisation. You will be responsible for preparing and processing monthly payrolls for all employees, ensuring accurate submission of payroll data to the UK payroll service provider. Alongside this, you will handle various payroll-related tasks such as calculating correct payment amounts, deductions, and allowances, managing SMP and SSP adjustments, preparing payroll reports, and ensuring compliance with wage laws and best practises.

In this role, your main responsibilities will be:

Processing new starters and leavers in HRIS and Payroll software
Calculating correct amounts to pay, deductions, overtime, bonuses, and employee allowances
Making manual adjustments to SMP, SSP, pay rates, and other miscellaneous adjustments
Running monthly payroll reports for the finance teams
Handling pension enrolment
Ensuring compliance with UK wage laws and best practises
Preparing and filing required reports
Resolving payroll-related discrepancies and responding to employee inquiries
Processing invoices within SAP
Coordinating with HR and Finance departments
Providing support for annual audits and financial reporting
Assisting with general office administration duties

What we're looking for:

A minimum of 1 year of experience in a payroll department
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
Excellent numerical and analytic skills
Strong organisational abilities with a keen eye for detail
Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Experience with payroll software would be advantageous
A Driving license and car
