Fairmead Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a highly reputable Tier 2 principal contractor. We are seeking a talented and ambitious Commercial Manager to join our client's dynamic team based in their Head office.

The Role:

As the Commercial Manager, you will take full control of the commercial department, with full commercial accountability. You will work closely with both the Managing Director and the Construction Director, playing a key role in the strategic journey to grow the business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Overseeing a diverse range of projects including residential, industrial, commercial, and refurbishment.
• Managing projects from inception to completion (cradle to grave), ensuring seamless pre-construction and commercial operational delivery.
• Establishing and maintaining a strong structure for the existing commercial and operational team alongside the Construction Director.
• Engaging in hands-on estimating and surveying for projects typically valued between £5-20 million.

Candidate Requirements:

• Proven experience in both pre-construction and project delivery.
• Background with smaller contractors, where experience in both surveying and estimating is essential.
• Demonstrated ability to estimate and survey projects up to £10 million in value.
• Currently working in a senior management position as a Commercial Manager, Managing Surveyor, or Senior Quantity Surveyor.
• Motivated, hardworking, and ambitious with a strong desire to lead and grow the commercial department.
