The Opportunity

Based onsite at Torr Works near Shepton Mallet, a Limestone Super Quarry one of the largest in Europe we now have an opportunity for a new cohort of Quarry Operatives. Following a large investment into this Super Quarry we are now looking to expand our operational expertise and the experienced team onsite can help you start and further develop your career in the world of Quarry Operations.

As aQuarry Operative, you’ll join our large operational team to help keep our quarry and process plant operational, running safely and efficiently. We don’t expect you to already be an expert in this field so will provide internal and external training to ensure you get your career off to the best start. Depending on the area in the quarry you’ll find yourself Operating equipment within Primary Crushing, Mobile Plant, Wash Plants as well as Processing and Distribution areas.

We are a 24/7 Operation, with various shifts available depending on your preference as well as availability onsite;

Option 1: Monday-Friday rotating 05:00-14:30 & 13:00-22:30

Option 2: Monday-Friday rotating 05:30-15:00, 13:30-22:00 & 21:00-06:30

With some weekend work as required.

Who you are

You’ll have a willingness to learn and keen to develop your career in the Quarry Industry.

We have a strong culture of Health & Safety onsite, so it is pivotal you can work in a safe manner.

By the nature of our work, you’ll need to be comfortable working outside.

You’ll need to be flexible to work on a shift rotation as outlined above.

Interview Process

We’re keen to understand your skills rather than your CV, so you’ll be invited in for a site tour and interview on the completion of your online assessment. You should receive this shortly after your application. In person interviews and site tours will be held on Tuesday 3rd September, Wednesday 11th September & Thursday 19th September. You’ll get the option to pick preferred dates in your application.
