The Opportunity

Following a large investment into this Super Quarry we are now looking to expand our operational expertise and the experienced team onsite can help you start or further develop your career in the world of Quarry Operations

Based onsite at Torr Works near Shepton Mallet, a Limestone Super Quarry and one of the largest in Europe we now have an opportunity for new Team Leaders to help ensure we are working efficiently and safely onsite.

You’ll play an essential role in the supervising of quarry operations, ensuring that safety standards are met and driving the operational efficiency of the site. You’ll have the support of our experienced Quarry team to help with any technical knowledge, so we’ll want you to bring to Team Leader experience from an Industrial/ Manufacturing environment instead.

You’ll coordinate with the operational teams to optimise resource allocation and help minimise production downtime. As well as look for ways to improve processes onsite, by implementing  best practices to improve quarry efficiency and safety standards.

Depending on the area in the quarry you’ll find yourself Operating equipment within Primary Crushing, Mobile Plant, Wash Plants as well as Processing and Distribution areas.

We are a 24/7 Operation, with various shifts available depending on your preference as well as availability onsite;

Option 1: Monday-Friday rotating 05:00-14:30 & 13:00-22:30

Option 2: Monday-Friday rotating 05:30-15:00, 13:30-22:00 & 21:00-06:30

With some weekend work as required.

Who you are

You’ll either have existing Quarry experience looking for that first step up, or be a Team Leader in a different industry keen to develop a career within a Quarry environment.

We have a strong culture of Health & Safety onsite, so it is pivotal you can work in a safe manner.

You’ll have excellent communication skills, confidence in providing direction and promoting a safe culture within your team.
