NEAT Team Leader

Permanent, Full Time

We have an exciting opportunity for a team leader to work within our Neighbourhood Environmental Action Team (NEAT). We are a forward thinking, values driven housing association, and this role is based in our NEAT depot office in Sheffield Ecclesfield.

We are looking for a confident team leader to oversee a multi-skilled team that deliver service charge gardening maintenance and communal cleaning. The type of candidate we are looking for would need to have an understanding of all gardening duties including, grass cutting, hedge cutting, strimming weed spraying and all other types of ground maintenance. They will also need to complete inspections on the void property gardens.

Job Description

  • Salary £34,391 to £37,670 per annum
  • 37 hours per week

More about the role:

You will report to the NEAT maintenance manager and will be responsible for providing a communal gardening service to all our housing stock.

  • Effective delivery of our estate-based services designed to ensure SYHA communal land and areas remains clean safe and attractive for customers.
  • Be responsible for health and safety in the workplace as defined by the Association’s Health and Safety policy.
  • Day to day supervision of the NEAT team
  • Effective delivery of our estate-based services designed to ensure SYHA communal land and areas remains clean safe and attractive for customers.
  • Oversee works to service charge properties and inspections which are allocated to NEAT to carry out works.
  • The post holder will provide cover for the other NEAT team leader.

  • Have a good understanding of standard IT packages to be used daily.
  • Great organisational and recording skills.
  • Budget Management skills.
  • Good problem solver and decision maker.
  • Knowledge of an existing trade may be advantageous but not essential for the role.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Passionate about customers and service delivery.
  • A can-do attitude.
  • Ability to motivate the team and develop team working.
