Cover Supervisor

Location: South Shields, Newcastle

Salary: £75 – £100 per day

Start Date: ASAP

Contract: Part-Time/Full-Time

GSL Education’s Newcastle branch is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our client schools as Cover Supervisorsfor the upcoming September 2024 term. This role is perfect for those who are passionate about education and looking to gain valuable classroom experience while supporting young students in their learning journey.

As a Cover Supervisor, your main responsibilities will be to:

• Supervisor classes across the curriculum in the event of a teacher's absence.
• Ensure that pupils are engaging in pre-planned work.
• Manage pupil behavior to create a safe and positive learning environment.
• Liaise with other staff members regarding work being set and ensure you have all suitable resources.
• Provide feedback to the class teacher on pupil attendance, engagement, and completion of work tasks.

To be a successful Cover Supervisor, you should:

• Hold an NVQ Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or higher or be a Graduate considering a career in education.
• know about safeguarding and child protection policies (training can be provided).
• Have the ability and willingness to undertake additional training and courses to enhance your professional development.
• Empathise with young people and have good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Can use your initiative to work flexibly and be able to respond to different situations.
