Are you looking for a varied and fast paced HR Consultancy role? Due to growth, our client has an exciting opportunity for an HR Consultant to join the team. This role is based in Maidstone, Kent. This is an office-based role but following training, there is the flexibility to work from home for up to two days per week. Some travel is required for client visits.

You require a strong background in HR with a focus on employee relations and an excellent knowledge of current employment legislation. To be considered for the HR Consultant role you will have or be working towards CIPD level 7 or have relevant work experience to manage a portfolio of clients receiving outsourced HR support.

This is a unique opportunity for someone who is knowledgeable and pro-active, loves working in a team and wants to develop their career in HR by broadening their experience with a variety of clients.

The duties of an HR Consultant include:

  • Be a dedicated contact to a portfolio of clients from different industries and provide pragmatic, compliant advice
  • Review or create Employee contracts and handbooks
  • Provide general Employment Law advice, compliant HR guidance and legislation updates
  • Complete annual reports including HR usage and recommendations
  • Conduct on-site client visits to deliver on projects, annual reviews, employee relation issues e.g. Redundancy, TUPE, disciplinaries, grievances, training etc.
  • Maintain healthy long-lasting client relationships
  • Expand and develop the current advo client base through allocated new business towards a set target

 Skills required for the HR Consultant role include:

  • Expert technical HR knowledge essential
  • In-house and/or outsourced HR experience essential
  • Confidentiality and discretion essential
  • High level of interpersonal & verbal and written  communication skills
  • High Level of Planning, prioritisation and organisation skills essential

Qualifications required for the HR Consultant role are:

  • Further education (diploma/degree advantageous)
  • Level 7 CIPD or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 7+ years’ experience in HR
  • A background in a fast-paced environment, e.g. retail, hospitality preferred
