Salary Range: up to £45,000 dependent on experience

Location: Lydden Road site, SW18 4LR

Role type: permanent, full-time position 

We are looking for an experienced, organised and dynamic Warehouse Manager to lead our warehouse operation and support the effective delivery of construction projects. In this role, you will play a critical part in managing the flow of materials, ensuring inventory accuracy, and appropriate stock levels and maintaining a safe and efficient warehouse environment.

Main Objectives of the role:

  • oversee daily warehouse operations such as materials receiving, storage and streamlined distribution
  • leverage technology to enhance warehouse operations, such as implementing stock management systems, barcoding and RFID tracking
  • implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure that materials are handled, stored and distributed properly
  • regularly inspect incoming and outgoing goods, to maintain high standards of delivery
  • implementing best practices for material handling, storage and stock management
  • manage and maintain inventory levels, ensuring accurate stock records
  • closely monitor expenses and waste to identify opportunities for cost savings
  • collaborate closely with warehouse operatives, project managers and procurement teams to ensure timely delivery of materials to sites
  • promote and implement sustainability practices within the warehouse. This could include waste reduction strategies, energy-efficient practices and recycling programs to reduce the environmental impact of warehouse operations
  • design and optimise warehouse layout to maximise storage capacity, enhance workflow efficiency, and ensure safe, ergonomic and flexible space utilisation that supports evolving operational needs
  • implement and enforce safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment
  • lead and develop a team of warehouse operatives, promoting best practices and continuous improvement
  • coordinate the maintenance and repair of warehouse equipment

Do you have what it takes?

- minimum two years’ proven experience in warehouse management, preferably within the construction industry

- knowledge of construction materials and refurbishment specifications is an advantage

- proficiency in inventory management systems and warehouse software

- strong influencing and team management skills

- assertiveness and confidence to challenge ineffective processes, whilst improving warehouse operations to increase efficiency, reduce waste and streamline procedures

- excellent organisational skills and attention to detail

- ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

- strong problem-solving and communication skills, to effectively coordinate with different departments

- physical fitness and the ability to lift heavy objects

- UK driving licence
