Head of IT Operations - Azure - Birmingham

Hybrid working - 2 days per week onsite

Salary upto £70,00

Head of IT Operations required for a leading client based in Birmingham. My client is currently seeking a Head of IT Operations to come on board to be responsible for leading and managing our IT Operations team, ensuring the reliability and availability of all IT services for the the client. This includes overseeing infrastructure, cloud computing, cybersecurity, networking, application support, databases, and helpdesk/end-user services. You will contribute to executing the overall IT vision and strategy for Service Management functions. You will drive initiatives aimed at improving efficiency while maintaining the highest standards of service delivery and support in line with our business goals.

Your role will encompass managing and supervising internal and partner IT support functions, overseeing incident and problem management across various IT environments, and administering applications, databases, networks, and both on-premise and cloud infrastructure. You will also serve as the escalation and coordination point for our third-party outsource and partner support teams.

  • Line Management experience
  • Play a key role in redesigning the clients Azure infrastructure, driving the adoption of Microsoft's well-architected framework through the introduction of a landing zone structure.
  • Supplier Management
  • Azure on Prem cloud knowledge
  • Oversee and manage IT operational expenditure.
  • Contribute significantly to our continuous improvement strategy by providing recommendations and suggestions to the business.
  • Thrive in a work environment and culture that values innovation, equality, diversity, and excellence in customer service.
  • Extensive experience in an IT Service Operations environment that relies on a hybrid support model (in-source/out-source) within a similar business sector or organization of comparable size.
  • Strong stakeholder and relationship management skills, with the ability to communicate complex messages across all levels of the business.
  • Proven experience in using monitoring tools to proactively identify and resolve potential issues.
  • Experience managing disaster recovery plans and tests.
  • Deep understanding of computer systems, hardware, software, and networks
