This means developing strong relationships with everyone from NFU colleagues to government ministers. So, as well as having a high profile in both the media and Westminster, we work with and support local members through a network of regional and county offices across England and Wales.

This role sits in the NFU’s Legal department, working with HQ colleagues, alongside regional and group office colleagues in the organisation to deliver a high-quality service for our members during their difficult times.

The team offers financial assistance towards legal and other professional fees incurred by members and provides professional guidance to them when they are experiencing legal problems. The team also plays a key role in developing and influencing the policies that benefit farming businesses across the UK.

The team cover different areas of farming and deal with a wide range of legal disputes on various legal topics such as contract, land, regulatory matters, rights of way, employment, partnerships, tenancies, planning, judicial reviews, diversification, etc. The sheer variety of our work means you can be involved in a wide range of legal disputes facing farming businesses and families.
