AWS DevOps Engineer

Location: Remote – must be UK based

The Role:

We are seeking a skilled AWS DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Kubernetes, infrastructure as code using Terraform, CI/CD automation with a preference for GitLab CI or Concourse, and a solid understanding of the AWS stack. The candidate should excel in automating container deployments using Helm, Docker, and Kubernetes, and be well-versed in best practices for containerisation. This role also involves expertise in availability and capacity management.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, deploy, and manage Kubernetes clusters.

Optimise and scale Kubernetes infrastructure.

Implement best practices for Kubernetes security and performance.

Develop and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform.

Collaborate with development and operations teams to automate and streamline the deployment, monitoring, and management processes.

Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines, with a preference for GitLab CI or Concourse.

Ensure reliable and efficient code deployment processes.

Demonstrate a strong understanding of AWS services and effectively leverage them in the DevOps processes.

Automate container deployments using Helm, Docker, and Kubernetes.

Enforce best practices for containerisation, including security and resource optimisation.

Familiarity with Istio for service mesh configuration and management.

Implement and manage monitoring and observability solutions using Kibana, Grafana, and Prometheus.

Ensure high availability of systems and applications.

Proactively manage system capacity, performance, and scaling.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar role.
• In-depth knowledge of Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD methodologies.
• Proficiency in at least one CI/CD tool, preferably GitLab CI or Concourse.
• Strong understanding of the AWS stack and its associated services.
• Experience automating container deployments with Helm, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with Istio, Kibana, Grafana, Prometheus, Java, and/or NodeJS is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
