Position: Multi-Skilled Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking a Multi-Skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team. You will be responsible for completing both pre-planned and reactive maintenance services at the Ministry of Defence's strategic tri-service UK headquarters — one of the largest and most secure office buildings in Europe, covering over one million square feet.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and additional work requirements, adhering to engineering standards and Health and Safety at Work Act (HASAWA) regulations.
  • Perform fault finding, plant adjustments, and inspections of mechanical and electrical services, plant, and systems.
  • Execute maintenance tasks in line with contract specifications and respond promptly to reactive maintenance requests.
  • Undertake multi-skilled duties, including testing, inspecting, and repairing motors, generators, chillers, Air Handling Units (AHUs), and maintaining foul water systems, drains, plumbing, and heating systems.
  • Fault finding and diagnosis of key building systems i.e Heating and Cooling
  • Carry out electrical testing of critical plant and lighting systems

What We’re Looking For:

  • Strong practical and theoretical knowledge of critical building systems within a Hard FM environment.
  • Recognised & relevant UK qualification in a suitable engineering discipline , NVQ minimum level 3 , City and Guilds equivalent
  • Experience in a multi skilled role
  • Good knowledge of building management systems
  • Existing AP qualification desirable
  • Basic knowledge of Hydraulic and Pneumatic systems
  • Health & Safety IOSH qualification or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in a client-facing role.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain MOD Security Clearance to DV level
