Our prestigious client is based in Laindon Essex in a purpose-built design engineering and headquarters building with 60 employees at this site is looking to recruit on permanent basis Electrical Design Engineer/Draftsman

The majority of their business is the design and assembly of filling and packaging lines for aerosols with a high proportion for the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries.

Their basic equipment is made by their principals in Switzerland Our client incorporates this and other machines into the lines linking them with their own design conveyors enclosures air handling electrical control systems and ancillary equipment

All panel building wiring and PLC programming is done on site and various other departments specialise in pneumatics can handling guard building machining machine assembly commissioning and documentation

As the Electrical Design Engineer/Draftsman you will be working alongside the Automation Technicians to produce the electrical wiring diagrams for our electrical control systems with a systematic approach to their work with attention to detail flexibility and curiosity with a willingness to learn and apply themselves to areas with which they are not familiar desire to improve and develop their area of work able to work effectively with people across departments and shop floor staff

Experience

 Formal Electrical Engineering Qualification (e.g. apprenticeship)

Desirable

- In-depth knowledge of EPLAN P8 and Pro Panel 3D is a necessity

- An EPLAN Certified Engineer (ECE) qualification

- Familiarity with Automated production machinery or other similar capital equipment

- Has worked in a project environment in cross-functional project teams

Responsibilities

•  Assisting with the ongoing drawing transition from AutoCAD to EPLAN working with the rest of the Automation Department to agree on methods of working and drawing standards

•  Generating electrical drawings and panel Layouts with supporting electrical documentation Bill of Materials Component Lists Cable Schedules Terminal Rail Layouts etc

•  Ensure all electrical drawings are updated promptly throughout the lifecycle   of the project and shared with all relevant departments

• Maintain a database of preferred electrical devices to ensure consistency in functional hardware from project to project
