Panel Builder / Panel Wirer / Electrical Fitter

Warrington, Manchester, Wigan, St Helens

3-month contract (likelihood of extension)

Rates: £22.00p/h - £24.00p/h (Ltd Company) (Outside IR35)

40 hours per week minimum, extra hours may be available. (Mon-Thurs 8am-5pm, Fri 8am-1pm)

Electrical / Panel Building / Wiring

This well-established company with a wide range of key world-renowned clients have recently won several exciting projects for the assembly, installation and commissioning of FMCG equipment. As a result, this company are looking for several contract Panel Builders for a minimum 3-month contract, with the opportunity for that to be extended. You will be involved in the building of panels for the FMCG equipment predominantly on conveyor systems for the food & beverage industries. As a skilled Panel Builder, you will require to conduct the following duties:

  • Reading technical electrical engineering drawings
  • Fitting of electrical components in accordance with electrical drawings
  • Assembling a wide variety of electrical control panels – components would include PLC’s, invertors, sensors, relays, busbars, breakers, drives and invertors.
  • Installation and testing of electrical panels and cable assemblies.
  • Utilising 5S to ensure that you are working in a clean & tidy environment.
  • Follow and complete all production documentation.
  • Working as part of an excellent, high performing team.
  • Some site work – this would involve the assembly and installation of all the electrical systems on the machines.
  • Commissioning of machines, and factory and site acceptance.
  • Adhere to the company’s standards and produce high quality work.
  • Using hand tools and some power tools to assemble the equipment.
  • Working alongside the design team to make sure the work is completed to a high standard.

The successful Panel Builder will need to have the following attributes:

  • Highly experienced in electrical engineering ideally within the FMCG industry
  • Hands on experience working on components such as drives & motors
  • Be able to use hand tools e.g., Screwdrivers, pliers, clamps crimpers and allen keys
  • Strong communication skills, with the rest of the electrical team including draughtsman
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (preferable), a practical electrical qualification
  • Flexible for possible travel in the future to assist with installation
  • Hardworking, reliable, enthusiastic
  • Desire and ability to learn
  • Good communication skills
